Effective Adsorption of Pb2+ on Porous Carbon Derived from Functional Octadecahedron ZIF-8

An adsorbent ZO (oxidized ZIF-8-derived carbon) was prepared on the carbon (ZC) by modified Hummer’s method. The removal rate and adsorption amount of Pb2+ were measured different molar ratios 2-Hmim to 2, 2′-bipyridine in ZO, including 1:1 (1:1 ZO) 1:2 (1:2 ZO). experiments show that best condition adsorb solution for is an dosage 20 mg, time 16 h, initial Pb2+concentration 15 mg/L, pH = 3; 18 concentration 4. data fits quasi-second-order kinetics (R2 0.99998), indicating chemical plays a leading role. fitted isotherm curve more consistent with Langmuir model R2 0.95058; 0.97488). competitive results than 98%, have superior selectivity competing Cu2+ Fe2+. maximum 15.52 mg/g 18.09 ZO.
